This beautiful winery is located in the greenest region of Italy: we are in Umbria, in a small village located on the top of the hill called Collazzone. A place where men can still be seen playing cards outside the bar or competing in bowls.
From the ancient walls of the town you can see Baldassarri family's vineyards who they proudly coultivate sincer years. Rows immersed in nature and covered by the mist while looking to Perugia.
Wine production began in the 1970s, with a few hectares of vineyards. The farmer's wine was initially made for personal consumption of the family and to gift to some friends.
In the years to come, they focussed on tobacco production. This area, infact, was ideal to produce high quality tobacco leaves, which were in great demand at the time. The love for wine has always remained and over the years the vineyard hectares have increased. Today, there are 40ha of vines that follow the lines of the hills, where various types of wine are produced. Curious and enterprising young people thet built a beautiful winery in 2005, where it is possible to do wine tastings. Native vines and more. A winery that loves to experiment by following new ideas and trends.
The Baldassarri Winery produces very different wines; native wines such as Sagrantino, Sangiovese and Grechetto from Umbria, side by side with international vines. There are: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio. These type of vines express themselves very well in this area.
For this reason ii's possible to move from complex wines with great aromatic notes to more elegant bottles.
