De Bacco

De Bacco is a farm which today cultivates 10 hectares of vineyards in Feltre, at the bottom of the Belluno Alps.

Valentina and Marco are the protagonists of this reality; they tell us their wines represent them, in a few words 'wines are what we are' they like to repeat. They inherited some vineyards from their grandfather and this has reawakened in them a passion that has never been lost. They started with indigenous vines, left to go to war, by people who had abandoned their land to emigrate or simply to go to work in factories.

Two young men who became vine growers, getting up every morning with the desire to produce wine, to welcome enthusiasts to a place that is beautiful but also difficult to cultivate.

Their vineyards are spread out among small fields with a strong vocation for agriculture but which can only be reached on foot. They are on slopes, on gravelly and calcareous conoids.

They started with the recovery of some native varieties such as Gata, Pavana and Bianchetta to which they then added international varieties such as Merlot, Pinot Noir, Teroldego, Traminer, Manzoni Bianco 6.0.13, and Chardonnay.

The past is not forgotten, it helps to differentiate from the others and to maintain its uniqueness. The international grape varieties allow experimentation on such a special terroir, where very personal wines can still be obtained.

The processing and also the harvesting of the grapes is done strictly by hand. The yield per hectare is very low; the focus is on quality and on respect for the environment.

Tasting a glass from the De Bacco winery means capturing the flavour and the nuances of a difficult land.
